At Loyal Littles French Bulldogs, I am dedicated to the well-being and health of the French Bulldog breed. About 3 years ago, I started researching health screening in French Bulldogs. I felt that genetic screening, such as the common 4-panel test that you often see, was only a starting point for breeding French Bulldogs and that there should be more in-depth screening involved. OFA screening involves the use of X-rays to assess the internal body. I believe breeders should be responsible for determining if their dog is fit for breeding. Genetic panel testing alone cannot provide breeders or buyers with information about the dog's hip or spine health. I believe in OFA screening to ensure the birth of the healthiest puppies. OFA screening is also a great tool for breeders to properly pair their dogs for a better and healthier litter outcome.
